Appointments

The initial office consultation may include a complete history and physical examination with an electrocardiogram. Please bring with you to the office all of the medications (bottles) that you are currently taking, as well as any medical records or reports that pertain to your condition.

Services are provided on an appointment only basis. Please call 2 months in advance to schedule any routine appointments. If you cancel an appointment, please call us as soon as possible. Our doctors rotate their responsibilities between the hospital and our offices. Due to the nature of the practice, emergencies do occur. Please be patient if your appointment is temporarily interrupted due to an emergency.

Cancellations

We request 24-hour notification if you are unable to keep your appointment.

Emergencies

One of our doctors is on call at all times. If an emergency occurs after hours, call 310-315-0101. Tell them your symptoms and cardiologist's name. They will be able to contact the Cardiology Consultants' cardiologist on call.

If you feel you need emergency care, go directly to the nearest Emergency Room. Tell them your cardiologist's name. You will be evaluated by the Emergency Room physician who will contact our cardiologist on call.

Phone Calls

If you call our office during regular office hours and are having an emergency situation, your call will be handled immediately. Non-emergency calls will be returned with in 24 hours. All information will be reviewed with a physician and your call will be taken care of as soon as possible.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions and refills are issued during regular office hours only. We cannot provide refills during the evenings or on weekends. If you need a prescription, have your pharmacist call our office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Our pharmacy line is 310-315-0101. Kindly provide 24 hours notice on all prescription refills.

Test Results

Many test results are not available the day the test is done, it may be several days before we receive your test results. If a test is ordered by a Cardiology Consultants physician and the results are abnormal, you will be contacted by the office with instructions from your doctor. If you have not heard from us within 3 days of the test, please call the office for results. All tests ordered in our office by an outside physician will be sent to that physician. The ordering physician will give you the results.

Fees

Our fees are comparable with other specialist offices in the area. Payment of co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles and outstanding balances are expected at the time of service. We accept Visa, Master Card and American Express. If you have any questions or problems with your bill, or if you experience a temporary financial problem, please contact our business office at 310-315-0109 during regular office hours. Our staff will be happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

Insurance

Medicare: Our office accepts assignment on all Medicare claims. In order to accept assignment, we must have a current signature on file and a copy of your Medicare card. Medicare will reimburse our office 80% of the allowable charge. You or a secondary insurance company are responsible for the 20%.

PPO Plans: We participate in many PPO plans. Please inquire with our business office if you do not see our physician's name listed as a provider with your insurance company. Patients are responsible to insure that their primary care physician has submitted the appropriate referral.

Other Insurance: The filing of primary or secondary insurance is performed as a courtesy for all patients. Please provide us with a copy of your current insurance card at the time of your visit. If there are any changes in your insurance coverage, please notify our office immediately. Regardless of insurance coverage, you are responsible for any fees incurred for services provided.

Other Information

  • Bring all current medications with you.
  • In order to limit costs and avoid unnecessary repetition of tests, please ask your physician to send with you copies of your most recent lab studies, (EKG, chest x-ray, etc.).
  • We appreciate your confidence in us and if you have any complaints or suggestions, we would like to hear from you. Please remember that your good health is always our main concern.
